There is an increasing number of positive interceptions of foods from Developing Countries and Emerging Markets due to contaminations with mycotoxins. In particular, the carcinogenic aflatoxins and ochratoxin A in these foods impose a threat to consumers in the EU and in the exporting countries as well. Therefore, The objectives of the workshop are to provide a technical training to laboratory technicians from Developing Countries in the field of aflatoxins/ochratoxin A analysis, to improve their knowledge of the EC legislation in this area, the monitoring plan, prevention and the performance of analytical methods within the laboratory. This programme is funded by the Directorate Trade of the European Commission.
